Adventure lovers will enjoy our variety of adventure sports and activities, but this place isn’t just for the active. We have plenty of tourist spots and sightseeing opportunities in the area.

Bring the whole family or enjoy a couple’s trip down some of these gorgeous sights!

1. Soap Lake

This small town on the shores of Soap Lake is one of the key spots in Central Washington. It’s home to some of the most breathtaking views in Washington.  You’ll find an array of fun activities and pleasurable sights.

The best place to stay at is the Soap Lake Natural Spa & Resort. You get to enjoy staying in a historic inn, cottage or log cabin, and can end the day with a relaxing dip in your suit’s Jetted Tub.  Sit by the lake, enjoy a glass of wine, and indulge in a spa treatment to say goodbye to your worries and feel energized.

2. Yakima Canyon and River

The Yakima Canyon is a beautiful drive for visitors coming to this part of town.  It embodies all that the great state of Washington has to offer, from its scenic shrub-steppe vistas to its myriad of recreational activities.   Geographically, it’s rich in heritage, culture, and landscapes. You’ll experience some of the most serene landscapes in the country. It’s full of a diverse range of flora and fauna, including eagles, hawks, bighorn sheep, deer, elk, coyotes and smaller mammals.

3. Kittitas County Hiking Trail

The fresh air and breathtaking views cultivate a unique vibe throughout the county. You can walk for hours without being disturbed and you can really connect with nature one-on-one.  Choose from beginner, intermediate and advanced trails. Push yourself or take it easy― your choice!

There are also many options of trails that offer different routes of scenery. Visitors are encouraged to try them all out.

4. The Summit at Snoqualmie Ski

People don’t necessarily think “skiing” when they think about Washington State, but it’s a wonderful state for outdoor adventure.  Escape into the mountains and spend some quality time on the slopes. Ski and snowboard all day, grab a bite to eat at a stylish restaurant and top off the night at a cozy local ski lodge.

A cup of chocolate after a day in the snow is also a must!

5. Umptanum Falls

You don’t want to miss the area’s favorite waterfall while visiting the Yakima Canon, located inside of the Umptanum Creek.  Surrounded on three sides by basalt formations, the water pours 40 feet into the creek.  This destination is listed as a key bird-watching area, but anyone wanting a beautiful view can follow the trail and find it.

This small and somewhat hidden waterfall is a surprise when you see it next to the desert area. The waterfall is surrounded on three sides by basalt formations and the water pours down by 40 feet. This location is definitely a must-see for those wanting a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
